Museum Trip - Diversity Pillar Event
Come join Beta Iota Omicron Fraternity at the Marian Koshland Science Museum for our Diversity Pillar Event!
We will be meeting at the UMD Metro bus stop at Stamp at 11am on Saturday, November 19th. Members are required to come, and all others are welcome to join in the fun! We should be returning to campus around 2pm.
We will be going on a tour of the museum and viewing the different fields of biological science, including microbiology, conservation biology, and aerospace!
The far-most section contains information about infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, etc. There are interactive scenarios where you see what happens if preventative measures are/are not taken. The second portion of the museum involves human impacts on global warming/ ecological resources. The last portion is about our discoveries in space.
The entry fee for the museum is $2 for students with a group of 20 people ($3 with a group of less), so make sure to bring your student IDs. Also, please RSVP with the Google document by Saturday, November 12th so we can secure a tour guide!
The museum is located 2 blocks away from the Chinatown metro stop on the Green Line. The address is 525 E St., NW, Washington, DC.
Can’t wait to see you all there!
